Update on Phase One We are pleased to report to you on the progress on Rinpoche’s Padmasambhava Meditation Center of the Rockies! Great headway has been made inside the main level of the center. All heating/cooling, electrical, audio/visual, insulation and plumbing has been completed for the main level. Dry walling will be completed by the beginning of June and then the flooring will be installed. We are very excited that the three statues that Rinpoche ordered arrived safely. They are the Buddha, Tara, and Guru Rinpoche. Now, the roof of the building has been replaced and work on the exterior of the building will begin at the beginning of June. The exterior will be redone in stucco with “traditional” Tibetan window treatments. The final steps: Constructing the throne for the statues and consecrating them Construction of shelving for texts in the shrine area Finish work, including the windows, doors, trim work, shelving units Bathrooms Exterior stucco Elevator With this progress, we hope to have Phase One construction complete by mid-August. We will keep everyone updated on the opening ceremonies as soon as we have determined the exact date of completion. For more detailed information about how you can help realize this meritorious project, please click here.

The post Update on new dharma center-in-progress! appeared first on Padmasambhava Meditation Center.

My dear students and trusted friends, We now have a large and beautiful building in downtown Denver, near the University, which will serve as the base for my teaching activity. A generous initial grant made this possible, but we still need to do a lot of work to reconstruct the building. I am writing to you to share my vision for the center, and to ask you to join the effort. I am happy to say that the newly established Padmasambhava Meditation Center will be a great service to all who have an interest in studying and practicing Dharma in this country. My plan is to teach regularly at the center as well as invite many other Lamas to give teachings there. I am very happy that it will provide an environment for so many people to come and practice the Dharma. We also plan to start a youth group to help the next generation enter the path of Dharma. This will gradually expand to other activities which will be beneficial for the community and everyone. Once I am here in America, I will travel to California, and many other locations to give teachings. The building needs extensive reconstruction, since the interior is currently just a shell with a roof and a floor, and nothing but framing. The center is almost 11,000 square feet with a large, open space for meditation. In addition to the shrine room, we plan to construct an interview room, a small store, a kitchen and a dining room, a library, meeting rooms, and office space. The first phase of renovation/construction will cost an estimated $330,000. (Please click here to see additional site details and a breakdown of the funding needs.) Whoever supports this project will create a direct karmic connection. Since this project will benefit countless beings by providing a space for practice and attaining enlightenment, your generous support will create supreme merit. Of all the merit, generosity is the supreme, and the ultimate generosity is contributing to creating a place of sanity where people can learn, practice, and achieve happiness and enlightenment. I want to thank you for all of your love and support, but this time I really need your help. I would be grateful for any help you can provide so that we can make this into a reality in the next few months. Here’s the opportunity. There are 2 ways you can help: 1. Make a one time (or ongoing) donation to the reconstruction of the Denver center. A generous donor has pledged to make a matching grant – up to $30,000 – during this first multiplying month of the Tibetan new year (the full moon is on the 25th of February and is a powerful multiplying day), so whatever donation you make will be doubled. This means that we have the potential to make $60,000 during this first month! No contribution is too small to help us reach this first goal. Click here for information on how to make a tax deductible donation via credit card, online bill pay or check. Our mailing address is: Padmasambhava Meditation Center, PO Box 1028, Boulder, CO 80306 2. Become a member of the center. Please click here for more details. With love and blessings, Chhoje Rinpoche

The post Letter to the Sangha from Chhoje Rinpoche appeared first on Padmasambhava Meditation Center.

GREETINGS and LOSAR TASHI DELEG TO YOU ALL !!! Rinpoche, Losar 2013 This past year has been wonderful with accomplishments for the Dharma. We now have our new center in Denver, Colorado, which is in the process of renovation, as I’m sure you all know. I’m personally very happy, because I see how the Dharma can take root in North America so that a lot of people will benefit from this Dharma seat and center. Having our center will enable me to give ongoing teachings and retreats. I also intend to invite other great Lamas of our lineage and also, in the long run, to have a Khenpo/Abbot in residence in Denver so that the Sangha can receive continuous and regular teachings and guidance, whether I am in Denver or travelling. I’m also very happy to have recently seen the Sangha in California. Their dedication and devotion inspired me a lot. I intend to give teachings wherever the Dharma is needed. In this past year, we have launched our new website for the Padmasambhava Meditation Center. Many people have donated tremendous effort to make our new website a reality. Carole Wilson and many others have worked very hard to make this happen so beautifully. Additionally, I would like to thank my wonderful dakini Yola, whose help has enabled me to accomplish and bring this to fruition. I would also like to thank Genevieve and Jim and all the others who gave so much time and energy to create our Padmasambhava Meditation Center. I hold you all in my heart and I thank you for all the support that many of you have continuously given me. I would like to suggest that since the first two weeks of Losar (until the full moon) is a time when everything you do – good or bad – is multiplied 100,000 times, that you should focus your mind in accordance with the Bodhisattva way of life and the practice of the Six Paramitas: number one – Generosity; two – Ethics; three – Diligence; fourth – Patience; fifth – One Pointed Concentration and sixth, the most important of all is Wisdom. So, please focus deeply to your practice. This is my advice. My prayers are with you all. Keep good samaya! Develop your devotion to the Buddha, Dharma and sangha. Have compassion for all beings and diligence in your practice. Particularly within our sangha, everyone should have patience and love for one another. This will bring happiness to you and to others ! Again, I wish you all a very Happy New Year: joy, prosperity, excellent health, well-being and long life ! With love and blessings, Chhoje Rinpoche

The post Losar Greeting from Rinpoche appeared first on Padmasambhava Meditation Center.
