Letter to the Sangha from Chhoje Rinpoche

Letter to the Sangha from Chhoje Rinpoche

My dear students and trusted friends,

We now have a large and beautiful building in downtown Denver, near the University, which will serve as the base for my teaching activity. A generous initial grant made this possible, but we still need to do a lot of work to reconstruct the building. I am writing to you to share my vision for the center, and to ask you to join the effort.

I am happy to say that the newly established Padmasambhava Meditation Center will be a great service to all who have an interest in studying and practicing Dharma in this country.  My plan is to teach regularly at the center as well as invite many other Lamas to give teachings there.  I am very happy that it will provide an environment for so many people to come and practice the Dharma.  We also plan to start a youth group to help the next generation enter the path of Dharma. This will gradually expand to other activities which will be beneficial for the community and everyone.  Once I am here in America, I will travel to California, and many other locations to give teachings.

The building needs extensive reconstruction, since the interior is currently just a shell with a roof and a floor, and nothing but framing. The center is almost 11,000 square feet with a large, open space for meditation.  In addition to the shrine room, we plan to construct an interview room, a small store, a kitchen and a dining room, a library, meeting rooms, and office space. The first phase of renovation/construction will cost an estimated $330,000. (Please click here to see additional site details and a breakdown of the funding needs.)

Whoever supports this project will create a direct karmic connection.  Since this project will benefit countless beings by providing a space for practice and attaining enlightenment, your generous support will create supreme merit. Of all the merit, generosity is the supreme, and the ultimate generosity is contributing to creating a place of sanity where people can learn, practice, and achieve happiness and enlightenment.

I want to thank you for all of your love and support, but this time I really need your help.  I would be grateful for any help you can provide so that we can make this into a reality in the next few months.

Here’s the opportunity.  There are 2 ways you can help:

1. Make a one time (or ongoing) donation to the reconstruction of the Denver center.  A generous donor has pledged to make a matching grant – up to $30,000 – during this first multiplying month of the Tibetan new year (the full moon is on the 25th of February and is a powerful multiplying day), so whatever donation you make will be doubled.  This means that we have the potential to make $60,000 during this first month!  No contribution is too small to help us reach this first goal. Click here for information on how to make a tax deductible donation via credit card, online bill pay or check. Our mailing address is: Padmasambhava Meditation Center, PO Box 1028, Boulder, CO 80306

2. Become a member of the center. Please click here for more details.

With love and blessings,

Chhoje Rinpoche
