Chhoje Rinpoche has initiated a number of projects for the Buddha Dharma to grow and flourish. In India, Nepal and Bhutan, he is managing a wide array of undertakings that will not only promote the longevity of the dharma but will also greatly improve the quality of life, particularly for the monks and nuns under his supervision.

The Chumur Cultural and Welfare Society, a Buddhist monastery located in Ladakh, northern India, has been Rinpoche’s seat since the 1940′s. Founded by his former incarnation Chhoje Rinpoche VII, it continues to function as a monastery to this day. It has undergone a complete renovation in the last few years, with a refurbished shrine room, new lama and monk housing, new library, new kitchen and other rooms. There are still pressing needs, such as the building of a 100 foot retaining wall to hold back an encroaching mountain slope.

Chhoje Rinpoche has also recently taken on the supervision of the Korseong Monastery & Nunnery, located in Darjeeling, India. The main shrine room has been restored and a new access road has been completed. On-going support for basic needs of the resident monks and nuns is needed and now you can have the opportunity to participate. Click here to see photographs of these devoted dharma students.

In addition, plans are underway for the construction of the Mandarava Nunnery and Retreat Center, located in Tso Pema, Rewalsar, India. It will be a beautiful nunnery and retreat center where nuns from all over the world can reside and western students can come to do retreats.

In addition, Rinpoche is currently involved in the maintenance and construction of sacred sites and statues in Nepal and Bhutan.
