Shower of Blessings Feast Offering (Tsok) Practice at PMC and via Zoom

Join us in person and via Zoom for tsok offering at PMC !

We will practice the Shower of Blessings feast offering (Tib. tsok) for the tenth day of the tenth lunar month which falls this year on Monday, December 13. The tsok (feast offering) practice is offered to celebrate each tenth day, Guru Rinpoche Day, in every lunar month. Each Guru Rinpoche day commemorates a particular episode from Padmasambhava's life as support to practitioners who wish to deepen their relationship with him, the buddha of our troubled age. During the eleventh month: "In Bhutan, the Guru takes wrathful form and places the local deities and protectors under his own control. He converts them into guardians of the termas (hidden teachings) and initiates them into the secret oral teachings, which are only revealed to tertons (discoverers of termas). He is known as Guru Dorje Drolo, 'the Vajra-Wrathful Guru.'" We will set up at 5:00 p.m., before the weekly Longchenpa online class and then start practice directly after the class concludes at 7:30 p.m. Please join us early to set up if you're able to help at this time! Those watching from home can arrange a plate of fresh food offerings--newly purchased items that have not been used before--and place it on your altar while you participate in the practice. You can offer anything that looks and tastes pleasing to you, then partake in the feast at the appropriate time in the ritual with the rest of the community. We will send out digital versions of the Shower of Blessings liturgy and the various introductory and dedication prayers to the email address you submit with your RSVP no later than one hour before the event. We will turn off the RSVP function at this point so we are able to get the information to those who responded.
