Our 2021 annual fundraiser was a huge success with donations of $22,669 towards our $18,000 target!
That's 126% of the total!
We hope you have benefited from the programs, instruction, transmissions, and connections we've offered this year despite the trying times. To follow through on our commitment to continue to offer programs during the pandemic, functioning A/V equipment has become more important than ever. As many of you who have joined us online this year have experienced, our aging A/V system is being held together with duct tape and bubblegum!
Live-stream has become our main way to share Chhoje Rinpoche’s teachings this year, and so, we ask for your help.
Due to the pandemic, we have lost more than 20% of our monthly membership contributions, which is one of our main sources of income. In addition, we have lost revenue from in-person programs.
To maintain our ability to deliver a seamless streaming experience, we need to raise $10,000 to update and upgrade the seven-year-old A/V system.
The new system will serve us well for years to come. Not only that, but this new equipment will allow us to continue recording and archiving Chhoje Rinpoche’s programs and all the programs we host at PMC in high resolution so these precious teachings are preserved for future practitioners.
Additionally, this year we have seen increased costs in Chhoje Rinpoche’s health insurance and Lama care in general. Operating expenses for the center have been more difficult to meet with a decline in income. Our goal is to raise an additional $8,000 to meet these needs.
To launch this fundraiser, we have received a commitment to match the first $9,000 raised. So every dollar up to 9K will be matched dollar for dollar!
We rejoice in each other's generosity as we rally around our community so that we can continue to benefit beings far and wide and support Chhoje Rinpoche's vision and his Dharma activities. We all hope we will be able to enjoy gathering again at the center as soon as the vaccine becomes more widely available!
