11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. PMC Community Room
Bring your young ones to learn about meditation on Sunday mornings! Our children's program, Bodhisattva Buddies, explores mindfulness and child-friendly Buddhist lessons together through activities and community practice. Parents and guardians are welcome to join in our meetings or may use the time for their practice in the shrine room upstairs. Meetings are followed by social time with snacks for children and their parents/guardians until 12:30p.m.
About this Series: This series supports children in developing compassion and wisdom through age-appropriate activities and simple explanations of the Three Marks of Existence: impermanence, suffering, and non-self. Storytelling, art, and group activities are all included to help bring these principles to life.
Each session is designed to stand on its own, making the series ideal for drop-in participation—no prior attendance is needed.
Ages: Children ages four years and older. They must be toilet trained and otherwise developmentally able to participate. Younger children are always welcome provided they attend with a caregiver.
Cost: Minimum suggested donation of $30 for the series of 6 classes. Participants under the age of four who are accompanied by parents may participate for free.
About the program leader: Joy Muratsuchi is a long-time PMC community member, mother of two, and graduate of Naropa University with a Masters in Buddhist Studies with a Concentration of Contemplative Religion. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions: joymuratsuchi@ gmail.com
