Join us for an exploration of Buddhism. In this six-week course, we will investigate what the tradition can teach us about the human experience by considering it in the context of our daily lives. The Triple Gem– the Buddha, his teachings known as the Dharma, and the community known as the Sangha – forms the framework for reflecting on what it means to recognize pain and yearn to be free from it. Among other topics, we will consider Shakyamuni Buddha’s unique take on the teaching of karma and why and how this played a key part in his awakening. Indeed, we may ask how it could in ours.
The course will run for six weeks, beginning June 9, 2020. We will meet every Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. MDT. The course will be taught by Christina Monson and Tracy Joosten.
