Introduction to Meditation

 

Join us in a six-week course to cultivate greater peace and awareness through meditation!

Padmasambhava Meditation Center is pleased to present a six-week course: Introduction to Meditation. The course will be taught virtually via Zoom conferencing software.

Suitable for both beginning and advanced meditators, this is an opportunity to learn and refine your understanding of techniques to focus the mind and to expand awareness. Such skills have never been more important for cultivating greater inner peace and well-being, especially amidst times of uncertainty and fear.

While the meditation techniques we will explore are grounded in the Buddhist tradition, participation is open to all. The course is suitable for anyone wishing to cultivate a new relationship to mind, thoughts, and emotions. Each virtual session will be accompanied by relevant reading materials and a daily practice to be done daily in between online sessions.

Sample topics this course will address are shamatha, or “Peaceful Abiding” meditation, vipashyana, or “Seeing More”meditation, and meditation on appearances and emptiness.

This cycle of the course is now underway and is not accepting registrations. We will run the course again, so watch your email or the PMC Facebook page for announcements.

Week Six – May 12 – Bringing it All Together

Suggested donation for the course: $85

No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. Please email treasurer@pmctr.org for information about how to make an offering of your own amount.
