Event Details

Beginning Sunday, January 19, 2020 at  10:15 am  Mindful Recovery is  focused on sharing support while bringing together  contemplative practice and a commitment to recovery from addiction.  This Mindful Recovery meeting is open to those interested in the use of Buddhist teachings and practices to help people recover from the suffering caused by addictive behaviors and is open to people of all backgrounds, and respectful of all recovery paths. Each Sunday morning during the open sitting time frame at PMC,  we begin at 10:15 am upstairs in the Shrine Room where each of us will sit for 15 minutes.  (Please note: if there is a program going on, we forego  mediation sitting  and go right downstairs.) Then we move downstairs at 10:30 am to the LIBRARY to hold the recovery meeting. A leader is selected form the group to lead the discussion. We  introduce ourselves however we feel comfortable,  read How it Works, and followed by the week’s group leader sharing a topic. Our discussion lasts approximately one hour and we follow the Twelve Step tradition of respecting anonymity and refraining from cross-talk or advice-giving.  Participants can sign up to lead the discussions and are encouraged to lead future meetings and share your experience, strength, and hope. We close the meeting with a prayer for world peace and a dedication of merit following the Buddhist tradition of PMC. The Padmasambhava Meditation Center generously allows us the use of this space and we ask that you reciprocate when we pass the donation basket.
